A report on the solar wiper and sun tracker



Solar wiper:-

The solar wiper is technology to clean the dusty solar panels in street lights as well as in other

solar power production areas. Due to the dusty soil on the panels, the production of the

energy is cut out by 35 percentage. So if we could clean the panels every day we will get

more solar energy. It is not always possible to climb the street lights and clean the panels

by workers. It is costly and not effective as well. The life of the workers also is in danger to

overcome this problem. This project will help a lot. 

In our project, we have placed the threaded rod on the solar panel, and the wiping brush is connected

with the rod with the help of a threaded bolt. Every morning and evening after 12 hours the wiper is

used to clean (wipe) the solar panel. The wiper cleans the solar panel and the solar is used to harvest

more energy than usual. The system runs automatically once we started it. This system uses the

energy stored in the battery of those street lights. 


The wiper is run by the 12 volts geared DC motor. The motor is controlled by the Arduino Uno

and motor driver. To control the voltage flow the voltage regulator is also used. Which allows

drawing the constant 12 V to the motor.

Solar tracker:-

We all know that the sun moves from east to west but our solar panels don’t. Due to which solar

panels cannot get a lot of the solar rays. Which hinders the harvest of energy. To get rid of this

problem solar tracker is the most usual and easy way to track the sun rays.

The Solar tracker tracks the Sun with help of LDR's placed on both sides of the Solar Panel. It

helps to strike more sunrays to the solar panel easily and effectively.

If the value of the Right LDR goes high the Servo Motor will rotate the Right side, If the left

LDR goes high servo will rotate on the left side. If both values are the same the Servo will

stop rotating and panel face towards the sun.

Conclusion:-

Thus, with this project's help, we can make our solar panels clean and harvest more energy.

And we can get more sun rays to our solar panels which helps to harvest the energy fast and efficiently.
